Janet Jackson - Number Ones/Up Close & Personal Tour - You Had To Be There!!!
I know this post is EXTRA late but, better late than never right!? I knew you'd understand - Muah!
So, continuing my obsession with Ms. Jackson, here are some videos from the third and last show in Los Angeles on April 16, 2011 at the Gibson Amphitheatre for the Number Ones/Up Close & Personal Tour. Words CAN NOT describe how great this show was. I feel truly blessed to have been in attendance to witness it and have great seats ;) Janet looked amazing and performed her ass off at the age of 45!!! Now, that's a true DAME chic! I was sad when the show came to a close because I miss artists like Janet. They don't make 'em like this anymore... For those of you who unfortunately did not attend the concert... Check out the footage below!
**Sorry DAMES - I had some technnical difficulties uploading videos from the concert, so check them out on my personal facebook page: Tanja Caldwell -OR- at my photobucket links:

*Like I'm the most expensive shoe in the world...*
If you had 228,000 dollars what would you do with it?? If you answered BUY SHOES you’re correct!!! Feast your eyes on the MOST expensive pair of shoes in the world! Designed by Christopher Michael Shellis these heels are “bedazzled” with 2,200 diamonds and solid gold and can be yours for the economical price of 228,000!!
Surprisingly, the most expensive shoes in the world have been on sale for about five months now BUT if you DAMES would like to swipe that black card and purchase a pair of shoes instead of a Maybach or Maserati you can find these beauties on display at the Mailbox Exhibition in Birmingham, England.
Sidebar: they do not come with their own bodyguard or safety lock shoebox for storage and the diamonds that fall off are not replaceable, but if you decide you had a moment of temporary insanity you could always melt the gold and extract the diamonds to make a fabulous ring or necklace!!

*Girl Talk...All day, it'll make your ears come HARD*
Because I consider myself somewhat of a mixtape (not rap though sorry) connoisseur my ears have been invaded with the fabulous creation known as “Girl Talk”. I stumbled across this treasure this past weekend while in the “Florabama” Orange Beach, FL a crazy lil’ town on the Florida/ Alabama line. While bathing in the sun (hungover) from the debauchery from the night before my new good friend and go to girl for all things music Bethann played this mix. At first I didn’t know if it was the sun mixed with the amazing Bloody Mary I was drinking to get my nutrients back that made me start dancing on the beach but when I got back to Atlanta and downloaded for myself I realized it was definitely a masterpiece!
It’s unlike any mix I’ve ever heard because the Pittsburgh resident Greg Gillis combines current chartburners with timeless classics…. Example Luda’s “move bitch” mashed with Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs”…. WTF Genius!!!

*Shoe whore's grab your cc's*
SCREW Christian Louboutin! I am absolutely in love with Canada’s own Jerome C. Rousseau! His shoes are firstly SEXY and secondly, CREATIVE. They are art for your feet and best of all they are SUPER comfortable. I was certainly a subscriber of the notion that SEXY heels could only come in the formula of 6 inches or more, but that was before I met Rousseau!! His handcrafted in Italy shoes are inspired by Modern art, European design, pop culture and nightlife. All in all I am in love and because he’s not as highly celebrated as Louboutin or Choo his shoes aren’t that pricey which means EVERYONE can afford at least one pair of his delicious foot candy!! Here are some of my favorites including shoes I own and will own soon!! DAMES check him out and get his shoes now before they get all trendy and oversaturated like things in fashion tend to do…
Tanj owns the ones on the left and I almost got the ones on the right... Looking @ them now makes me wanna kick myself for not getting them :( |
My go to shoe for fancy events and trashy nights ;) |
Very French circa 15th Marie Antoinette period! |
Classic and SEXY!! |
Will be adding to my collection soon! |
Apparently an oldie but I will be stalking them down soon... U can never have too many sparkly shoes to go grocery shopping in!! |
MAN!! I feel like I could post pictures forever…. Although I’d rather be taking camera pics with them on my feet!! Seriously I am making some serious “pudding in my panties” over these shoes (Thanks Summer Fields for hilarious and disgusting description!) Not to mention they come in beautiful packaging!! I cannot express how much I love his art but what I can tell you is that as soon as you slide into a pair you will be hooked!!!

JANET JACKSON!!!!!!!!!!! NEED I SAY MORE...
Janet... Ms. Jackson if you Nasty ;)
Oh how I love thee...
So, in great anticipation of seeing one of my all-time favorite female artist perform in Los Angeles this Saturday, I decided to do a few posts dedicated to the beauty, the pop icon, the sex symbol, the fashionista/trendsetter, the performer that is... Ms. Janet Jackson! I can remember at 10/11 years old imitating dance moves from her video "Pleasure Principle" with my cousin in my Aunt's living room - she damn near fell over in disbelief and horror when she caught us attempting to reenact Janet's acrobatic chair move from the video - Hahahaha!
There are so many things I admire about Janet Jackson the pop star and the woman. Where do I start!? Her voice, her talent, her charisma, her dance moves, her sex appeal, her individual fashion style, her many dimensions, her global awareness and activism, her ability to captivate her viewers/listeners, and her legacy.
Janet is one BAAAD DAME Chic!
Stay tuned for additional posts on Janet Jackson as well as pics and video from the concert this weekend.

The Sexy Militarian Look - Here to Stay!
Only for the few... the proud... the DAMES! (Lmao! You know you love my lil corny subtitles)
Anywho...
The Militarian Look is one of my favorite current "trends". I like mixing this look with girlie pieces or accessories - just to keep 'em guessing. I'm obsessed with mixing feminine w/ masculine, and the militarian look is easy to do, for example: a structured military blazer with defined shoulders and all the military trimmings paired with a short, full, frilly skirt (preferably in a pattern/print/bright color) and tall platform combat boots - I DIE!
One of my favorite designers for Louis Vuitton!
Check out the latest creations from Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2011 collection
designed by
*Marc Jacobs*!!!
This collection is soo FIERCE, Feminine yet authoritative, a little androgynous, and super sexy!
My favorite accessory is the Louis Vuitton captains hat - SIIIICK!
Here are our favorites from the runway...
I could sooo see my bestie and co-author of fashionfordames, Pelar Jones, sporting this entire look!
These shorts with these shoes - RIDICULOUSLY HAUTE! WHEW! Thank you Marc for you genius - hahaha!
