Throwback Tuesday... MCM is making a comeback!

During the late 80s, early 90s, the MCM handbag was the "it" bag. Some of you 80s babies may be more familiar with the brand. I remember my stylish Grandmother, aka. my fashionista mentor, owning some of the MCM luggage and carrying a couple different styles of their handbags. She always had the hottest handbags, so at a young age I knew there had to be something special about this designer/brand.

For those of you that may not be familiar with this iconic brand, here's a little info and history:

MCM also known as "Mode Creation Munich" was fashioned in Munich, Germany in 1976. MCM reflects the Roman numerals "1900", symbolizing the new concept of travel at the turn of the 20th century, hence their brand motto and vision: "The art of travel. The spirit of adventure. Life is a journey"

MCM provides luxury leather goods, apparel, accessories, and footwear. They combine iconic German engineered functionality with traditional craftmenship and a heritage of elegance.

History behind the Logo -
*The Munich Lion emblem symbolizes Henry the Lion, the father of its birthplace.
*The Laurel Leaves pay homage to King Ludwig I's passion for all things neoclassical, representing the Greek meaning for victory and achievement with honor.
*The MCM Diamond represents value, strength, and durability without compromise in beauty. Legend has it the diamond behind this inspiration, the Wittelsbach Diamond - a 35.56 carat (WOW!) -  sold in 2008, for the highest price ever paid at auction for a diamond.

MCM decided to diversify, as many designers have come accustom to doing, and collaborate with other designers/fashionistas/stylists/costume designers/celebrities to create personally customized collections. Check out some of MCM collabos that I LOVE:

Craig-Redman for MCM Shanghai Collection

Patricia Field for MCM

*Sloppy Second Fashion Shows...*

OMG!!!!  *Hides face*  I AM ashamed of how neglectful I have been of my baby!  If I were a mother I would be locked up somewhere for it!  It’s been a crazy few weeks and I am constantly battling how one lives and enjoys life while also blogging about it…
About two weekends ago I was privileged enough to attend the first annual “Stay Fresh” Fashion show presented by Honey Hustle Entertainment and all the cool kids of Peters street!  The atmosphere was great it was held in a huge warehouse/loft space.  Definitely underground coolness!!

I did snap some pics of DAME worthy chicas including Kat “VaughC” CEO of Honey Hustle and the production Manager Lashori.  The event was sponsored by JAGER, so you already know how I was feeling on to the next one……

LOVE the sequins and the trashy pantyho's combo!
AMAZING!

A pair of Dames!!

Another pair of Dames... I think there's a trend, Dames usually come in pairs? hmmm

My fav new fall trend brought to me by DAMEVINTAGE@blogspot.com.. I'll be rocking socks and knee highs all fall/winter!

NOW…
this is where things get a little hazy, you know after all the JAGERbombs…
This half is just to show you how GDTA…. (Great Dames Think Alike).  My PIC (partner n crime) met  me at “Sloppy Seconds” an underground party thrown every second Saturday at MGQ!  This party satisfies my urge for DANCE MUSIC, cheap Beer (PBR’s), and themed parties!!!
She showed up in a black and white striped shirt, a perfect pair to my black and white stripped dress and ONE of the featured DJ’s Tamara sky also had on a striped shirt as well that she rocked with a trucker cap  leaned to the side!  (She’s pictured because I love seeing girls HANDLE “boy”jobs and look good while doing it).  She was hands down the BEST DJ of the night and when we have our launch party we are flying her in for sure!!!  Anywho it was a perfect way to end a great night!!
Goners!!

DJ TamaraSky...oh,lol it says it on the computer...

loves it!!
A hot sweaty goner!  But the one thing I can always say is this is the ONLY club party I will always and consistently leave hot and sweaty at because I dance my ASS off!!! I <3 S.S!!!

JUST BECAUSE…
I took some pictures of the murals on the walls that night.  (Every show they change them).  These were pretty cool!

Local ATL designers did there thing!  I was truly in awe of how innovative and drop dead gorgeous the clothes were!!  Just goes to show that all the hot clothes aren’t in the stores yet!  I will definitely have the names and pics of the designers as soon as I get them from Kat!

Fairytale Vintage... with a lil Punk.

*DAME Fashion Spread Spotlight*

Hello all my lovely DAMES! Happy Monday! It's been a few days since my last post... So much can happen in a few days... a few hours.. even a few seconds... Days, hours, seconds, within any of these time frames one's life or your perspective on life could completely change... Not meaning to get too deep to start the week off... just a lil somethin to tickle your brainwaves and jumpstart your mind - if the morning coffee or tea hasn't achieved that already ;)

Cherish every day, hour, and second and most of all make it COUNT! So, whether it's taking the time to tell someone special, "I love you" or being brave enough to follow your passion and telling your boss "I quit!" - make it count and live every moment like it's your last.

Back to our regularly scheduled program....

I found this fashion spread this morning... and I fell in love with it simply because I LOVED her pink "punk" hair! No drawn out explanation or dissection of the fashion or styling today... I just really liked her hair and angelic expression! Ha! The fairytale way in which the model was shot and the photos were edited afterwards is interesting as well and I knew my DAMES could appreciate the fashion. There's also some great party dress looks, for those of us gearing up for the holidays!

Enjoy! Muah!

Itching for a lil SPRING action??? So am I!

I know many of us have just begun to assemble our fabulous fall wardrobes (Fall being my favorite fashion season because there are some many amazing styling options!), but as you already know fashion is always two seasons ahead of the game. So to keep my lovely DAMES ahead of the game as well, here's some spring fashion to start drooling over!

Continuing with my obsession today with all things Jean Paul Gaultier... Check out his designs for Christian Dior's Spring 2011 collection! The styling, the bright colors and patterns, and girly silhouettes are to die for! His Muse... none other than a DAME chic herself... Betty Paige! She's a personal favorite of mine (Dita Von Teese being one of her burlesque protoges)!
Looove me some Sexy Betty Paige! HOT!
